I am a printmaker who grew up in the town of Moline, on the far south side of Grand Rapids. It is change that brings me to make artwork, such as decay, landscape or structural manipulation. As buildings I grew up knowing changed, I began to make images about them. I became especially interested in the history of the buildings and locations during the time that two historic buildings in my hometown were burned down. Those events sparked another interest of mine, which is getting the community involved in the work. I create images through photography, digital manipulation, etching and cutting in linoleum or wood. I have lived in several communities throughout west and mid Michigan. I have continued to make images of the changing landscapes and communities around me to document and tell the stories of my community. |
