While walking down the street, behind buildings, through the woods, and inside vacant houses, I photograph and make prints of the various things I see. Found objects retain and sometimes reveal stories about previous and future inhabitants of these places. A car that looks like it rolled over twenty times rests upside down in the woods near an oil well. In time, the manmade materials in these neglected places break down and persistent vegetation begin to take over. As I revisit the sites, I am witnessing a quiet cycle of decay. From the information I gather, I create visual histories about previous inhabitants and speculate upon the future of that environment.
